Minenhle is currently a PhD candidate in geology at the University of Johannesburg and holds an MSc geology degree from the University of Johannesburg, a BSc (honours) and BSc degree also in geology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She has 4 years tutoring/demonstrating experience in modules related to mineralogy, geochemistry and overall igneous petrology.  She specializes in mineralogy, geochemistry and igneous petrology of rare metal (lithium, niobium, tantalum) pegmatites from the Orange River pegmatite belt in the Northern Cape. She also has experience with the use of analytical equipment such as SEM, EPMA, ICPMS, XRD and the optical microscope as well researching, analyses and data interpretation. She has gained field exposure in the form of field trips inclusive of mapping, sampling and mine visits from her undergraduate studies, to her current PhD. 

Minenhle has also presented both her masters and current PhD research at various conferences including the Geocongress, Igneous and Metamorphic Studies Group (IMSG), Cimera Colloquium and Department PPM talks. She has also been on national television news segment (SABC) to discuss a geologists perspective on issues such as illegal mining in South Africa and attended the Mining Indaba (Youth Program) that aimed to inquire the youth in geosciences about the future of mining.

Minenhle has won two competitions (1st, 2nd place and people's choice award) that were aimed at translating scientific research for a non-specific audience hosted by her current institution. She has completed various short courses that include the use of  ArcGIS Pro basic, Structural logging of drill cores and research elements (writing, designing, presenting).
